Mulry’s Walk-off Gives Assassins 16U Victory Over Kaiser PA Patriots 18U

It came down to the wire on Saturday, with Assassins 16U taking victory on a dramatic walk-off single in the late innings that sealed their victory over Kaiser PA Patriots 18U. Assassins 16U was down 4-3 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Katie Mulry singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.

Assassins 16U earned the victory despite allowing Kaiser PA Patriots 18U to score three runs in the seventh inning. Hope Garavaglia, Abby Hsu, and Riley Mitchell each drove in runs during the inning.

Assassins 16U opened up scoring in the first inning. Assassins 16U scored one run when Vic Marconi singled.

After Kaiser PA Patriots 18U scored one run in the top of the third, Assassins 16U answered with one of their own. Kaiser PA Patriots 18U scored when Miya Williams singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run. Assassins 16U then answered when Lily Nucera singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

Rae Portadin took the win for Assassins 16U. The hurler went seven innings, allowing four runs on five hits, striking out four and walking one.

Williams was in the pitcher’s circle for Kaiser PA Patriots 18U. Williams lasted six innings, allowing eight hits and five runs while striking out 13 and walking one.

Taylor Lalla led Assassins 16U with two hits in three at bats.
