Assassins 16U Claims Victory Over Brewster Rockets 16U Select 16U in Blow-Out Fashion, 17-1

Assassins 16U easily did away with Brewster Rockets 16U Select 16U 17-1 on Sunday to win the USA Softball 20th annual Halloween Classic tournament.

Assassins 16U opened up scoring in the first inning. Sophia Centanni drove in one when Centanni singled.

Tatumn Menzies led the Assassins 16U to victory in the pitcher’s circle. Menzies went four innings, allowing one run on four hits, striking out six and walking zero.

Lucie Prior started the game for Brewster Rockets 16U Select 16U. The righty lasted one-third of an inning, allowing four hits and seven runs while walking one. Riley Youngman, Sierra Bischoff, and Ella Kmiotek each contributed in relief for Brewster Rockets 16U Select 16U.

Assassins 16U totaled 12 hits. Centanni, Taylor Lalla, and Rae Portadin all had multiple hits for Assassins 16U. Portadin, Lalla, and Centanni all had two hits to lead Assassins 16U. Assassins 16U was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Hayden Bauer made the most plays with seven. Assassins 16U stole eight bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Lily Nucera led the way with four.

Youngman led Brewster Rockets 16U Select 16U with two hits in two at bats.
